Born in Istanbul in 2001, R. Ali Akbaba is a senior student in the Cinema and Television Department at Akdeniz University’s Faculty of Fine Arts. Focusing on short films throughout his studies, he has developed a parallel body of work in directing, editing, and post-production across fiction and documentary. He also works as a video editor on commercials, documentaries, and a range of video projects.
Two people who went their separate ways four years ago unexpectedly cross paths again on a ferry. As the Istanbul skyline drifts by, they are forced to confront their past and the feelings they left unresolved.
A feature-length documentary on which I worked as an assistant editor and post-production supervisor, beginning its festival journey at the 2026 Adana Golden Boll Film Festival.
